MEET CRAIG ANHDER

I grew up working side by side with my dad in our family’s Cache Valley ice business. Those early mornings and long summer days taught me lessons that have shaped my life. I learned the value of hard work, responsibility, and—most importantly—how to take care of the customer. When someone depended on us for ice, it wasn’t just a delivery—it was our reputation. That commitment to serving others has stayed with me ever since.

For the past 25 years, I have been a high school teacher in Cache Valley, where I’ve taught economics, investments, and financial literacy. One of the most important lessons I have passed on to my students is the importance of fiscal responsibility and living within our means. I believe those same principles apply not just to families, but to government. We must be wise stewards of taxpayer dollars, keep spending under control, and make sure every decision reflects responsibility to the people we serve.

Alongside teaching, I have also been a football coach for 32 years. Helping young men—and some tough young women—has been one of the greatest highlights of my career. Coaching has given me a front-row seat to the power of preparation, teamwork, and resilience. It has taught me that adversity can be overcome with discipline, grit, and unity. It has also reinforced the importance of being a role model, setting high expectations, and leading by example. These same qualities are exactly what I will bring to the role of County Executive.

Most important of all, I am a husband and father. I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Mindy, for 30 years, and together we have raised five wonderful children. My family is my foundation and the reason I am so committed to making Cache County a place where families can thrive for generations to come.
Cache County is my home, and I am deeply committed to protecting its values, strengthening its communities, and ensuring its future. Just as I’ve done in the classroom and on the football field, I will listen, prepare, and work tirelessly to serve the people of Cache County with integrity and accountability.
